When Simeon, the priest, held baby Jesus in his arms to dedicate Him in the temple, he knew exactly who he was holding. He knew this child would grow up to be the Saviour of the world! Just as Simeon recognized the baby Jesus, through the Spirit of God and prophesied what was to come, we too need to recognize who He is and what He came to do.
When we do, we get to walk out what was foretold many years ago. We live with His purpose, we walk in His blessing, and we enjoy a relationship with the Father. Because Jesus willingly chose to die – we can live in Him.
As the Person of the Holy Spirit reveals Jesus and His Father to us through His Word, and manifest Presence, we become powerful carriers of the same light! We reveal Jesus to a world longing to know Him. We become those beacons of light, holding out to a desperate world the Word that will bring them life (Philippians 2:15-16).
