Think About Such Things

The human mind is an extremely powerful tool. God has given us the ability to speak and act as an expression of our thoughts. Your thought life is equally important as your spiritual life (Proverbs 23:7).  That’s why it’s essential to pay attention to what thoughts we allow to make their home in our minds. It’s been scientifically proven that any thought agreed upon in our minds becomes a permanent belief.  This is very convenient for the devil because if he drops thoughts into our minds that appear to have a form of truth to them, yet are based on a lie, he has a strong chance we will entertain and even come into agreement with those thoughts.  He can literally shape our belief system through cleverly deceiving us in our own minds. Consequently, what we think will influence what we say, which paves the way for the way we act.  That’s why the Bible strongly commands us to pay careful attention to every thought – identifying its origin and dealing with it swiftly and violently. If it does not take on the nature of God and His word, it must be taken captive and brought under the submission of Jesus Christ.  In other words – strongly rejected and immediately replaced with the truth of God’s word.  That’s why it is essential for every believer to keep his thoughts fixed on what God calls pure – His word! When God’s word governs our minds, it governs what we say and what we do. The mediation of our minds will determine the outcome of our lives. Right thinking causes our souls to prosper, and in turn our bodies do too (3 John 1:2).  Make meditating on God’s word your priority from today – it will cause you to have good success and everything you put your hand to will prosper! (Psalm 1:2-3).
