We have glorious opportunities to encounter God daily! Even though we don’t get to experience Jesus in the physical as the disciples did, we get to experience His tangible presence by His Holy Spirit, who lives within us. The Holy Spirit is the living expression of Jesus Christ, who is the living expression of God the Father! John 1:1 says Jesus is the Word; so the more we gaze upon the Word, we gaze upon who Jesus is. The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus to us and causes His mercy and truth to be the reality that we enjoy. We have not been called to only encounter the goodness, tenderness, mercy, and truth of God once in a while.
We are to encounter the Person of Jesus daily, by beholding Him in the light of His Word. Seeing and experiencing Jesus this way is what transforms us, one degree at a time, into His very image and nature. That’s because the truth of Who He is so impressed and influences our hearts and minds, it literally changes us from the inside out! His influence on us becomes reflected in the way we see ourselves and others and act according to the kindness and love we’ve personally received from Him. Be changed by His kindness today.
