In the Book of Acts Jesus promised the disciples that they would receive power when the Holy Spirit came upon them (Acts 1:8). Samuel promised Saul that when the Spirit of God came upon him, he would be turned into another man (1 Sam 10:6). The Spirit of God is able to use any vessel, whether small or great, for His glory. All He requires is a willing, obedient heart. The Bible says God has chosen the foolish things of this world and the things that are weak to confound the wise and the strong (1 Cor 1:28-29). Throughout scripture we see the mighty, transforming power of the Spirit of God touch and transform ordinary, even broken in spirit, people to become strong and courageous and do great exploits for His kingdom. We see how He transformed David, a shepherd boy, into a mighty king. We see how He transformed Gideon, a weak and timid farmer, into a mighty man of valour. We see how He transformed the disciples from ordinary fishermen into bold fishers of men. Don’t think for a moment that the Lord can’t do the same for you. The Spirit of God, without exception, can and will transform and empower anyone yielded to Him. All He requires is your willing obedience! Yield yourself to Him today and watch the glorious transformation begin!
