Never underestimate the power of your words! The Bible says when we pray and believe, we will have what we say! (Mark 11:23-24). We can even commission angels with the power of our words that align with God’s will! When we declare words of faith, those words go out and produce the truth they carry – even causing circumstances to align with our confessions! Hallelujah! Used correctly, our words can move any obstacles that stand in the way of God’s promises becoming our reality. So, we must pay attention to what we say – not just because our words have the power to produce, but because we have an enemy, the devil, who watches carefully to see how he can use our words against us. He waits for any negative confession from our mouths and then assaults our minds with more negativity, like fiery darts, his thoughts feed that spark of unbelief, worry, discouragement or strife. Then he watches for our reaction. If we continue to dwell on those negative thoughts, they will begin to overwhelm us to the point where our words align with them, and we begin to make wrong decisions – based on fear – setting us on a dangerous course of despair and destruction. However, if we catch ourselves in time – recognizing the downward spiral away from faith those negative thoughts can take us – we can quench those fiery darts before they cause us to lose control! We do this by taking up the shield of faith! (Ephesians 6:16). Every negative thought can be exchanged with the truth of what God’s Word has to say about the situation. Changing the direction of our thoughts from negativity to faith will change the course of our tongues! As those words of faith come out our mouths the devil loses ground and can do nothing to withstand the creative flow of life and power from our words of faith! Determine to gain victory over the devil’s assault on your mind by only speaking words of faith! Instead of discouragement and defeat, your life will be marked by God’s righteousness, His peace, and the joy of the Holy Ghost!
