What is in Your Hand?

In 2 Kings 4 we read of a powerful testimony of the provision of God in the life of a woman and her children. Just as God provided to her, He will prove to us that He is willing and able to supernaturally provide for us when we place what we have in His hands. When the desperate widow came to Elisha she was in great need and distress. She was in an awful situation and was about to have everything taken away from her, including her children. While he knew the woman was in a state of desperation, Elisha asked her what provision she had in her house. This may have seemed an inappropriate question to ask the woman, since she was in need, but there was a principle at work here. Elisha gave the woman an instruction based on her response, and she immediately obeyed. This is where the miracle took place! It was a great miracle of provision, we read that as she started pouring the little oil she had into the borrowed jars, it kept flowing and only stopped once there were no more jars to be filled. The obedience of the woman presenting what she had in her hand, resulted in her miracle of provision! As she sowed the seed of the oil she had, God poured out a supernatural harvest in her life resulting in her no longer being in need. She moved from being poor to being in abundance and blessing. Obedience to the Word and voice of the Lord must always have faith attached to it. We serve a God who operates according to the principles written in His Word. When God speaks to you to place something you already have into His hands, know that something greater is on its way. The principle of seedtime and harvest is very real, you can expect God to always honour His Word in every regard.
