You did not choose Jesus. He chose you far before the foundations of the earth (Ephesians 1:4). This is a truth that all of us need to live in as believers. Not only for us to live in it, but for us to share it with those who do not yet know Jesus Christ. They too need to realise that they have been chosen by God, that He loved them even when they had never heard of Him (Romans 5:8). They need to know how God desires to see them saved from an eternity separated from Him and brought into the kingdom of His dear Son (Matthew 18:14). All mankind was purposed to be in union and harmony with God, and to be fruitful in this life. Since the creation of Adam, this purpose was evident and throughout the ages He has always made a way for man to turn to Him and out of personal choice – receive Him as God. It’s essential for us as believers to walk in a reality of who we are in Christ – our eternal destiny should be dominating our natural existence more than anything else in this world! It’s time to align our lives with His purpose for us here. That purpose is a plan carefully set out in His heart for us. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “… They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” You are chosen and appointed and called to bear evidence of God’s Own Spirit living inside of you. Receive this as an encouragement today to be and do what God has called you to be and do. You are well able to accomplish this because the One who made you has placed within you the capacity to do it and filled you with everything necessary to do it well! Remember He chose you!
