Your Best Life

Did you know that hopelessness is something we as believers NEVER have to feel. We have a hope in the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Sometimes we become so caught up in this natural world and its cares that we lose sight of this glorious truth!  1 John 3:3 says, “And everyone who has this hope [resting] on Him cleanses (purifies) himself just as He is pure (chaste, undefiled, guiltless).” When we are constantly aware of the truth that Jesus could return any day, even in our lifetime, we live with an excitement and wonderful expectation! For one thing, we will certainly live uprightly, being sure to separate ourselves from even the appearance of sin, so that we will not be ashamed at His coming.  1 Thessalonians 5:22-23 becomes our reality: “Abstain from evil [shrink from it and keep aloof from it] in whatever form or whatever kind it may be. And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [separate you from profane things, make you pure and wholly consecrated to God]; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).” Another thing that will happen when we keep our hope in the Lord Jesus coming to fetch us, is our lives will be filled with joy and victory! We will want to experience everything Jesus died on the cross for us to enjoy – this side of heaven.  Things like the authority and victory we have over the kingdom of darkness because of our position of being seated with Christ in heavenly places. As well as the ability to be led by the Spirit of God – Who lives inside us.  Expecting Jesus to come at any time increases our desire to know and meditate on His Word so that we become skilled in our faith and our prayers become increasingly more effective!  When Jesus does appear in the clouds to draw us to Himself, you and I will be stepping into the most glorious life we will ever know! The life we have here pales in comparison to what is being prepared for us (2 Corinthians 4:17). So, hold onto your blessed hope as it causes you to live your best life – in Christ Jesus!
